  1. Thanks guys! (Been mostly offline this weekend, so I never had time to reply)
  2. I was planning on doing that once I get one in, hopefully either before I leave work or when I get in. The threads seem to help with some early plot bouncing too.
  3. I think it's an extremely slow week. From the Venting post and my RL friends, EVERYONE seems to be sick or helping people who are sick over the past week or so. And now I'm achy. This doesn't bode well...
  4. Happy birthday! (Sorry, only got stable computer access now.)
  5. Ten times more awesome than regular cake! Yay! And ten times as dense, but it's packed full of yummy goodness! Hope you had a good birthday!
  6. Thanks! It was a decent one. Didn't have much to do, though... Arnie would probably check his time card, change it so that he's on Steff's time and then quietly go move into her place with Nance coming along and claiming to be on vacation. Arnie really isn't a party person...
  7. Thanks for the update, Mike!
  8. Buuuuut you would need it to put Mirror Scott in some swim trunks. >
  9. Who would want to win that award?! Better yet, let's up the ante Rob; Best Ad Astra Member Naked-Contestants must submit pictures of themselves, all natural, in order to be judged by their peers. Photoshop is fully welcome (in fact, PLEASE USE IT!) 8) Why stop at that? Character swimsuit contest! Both male and female can apply.
  10. The voting for that would be highly subjective, though.
  11. FYI - I won't have full computer access until the 31th after heading out on the road on the 15th. I think the only place where this is going to be a BIG deal is over on the round robin. Well, that and some of you can't plot with me on AIM, but that's to be expected. I still need to figure out what I'm going to do with my characters there... Maybe if you're lucky, there will be pictures. "And this is what the Erie Greyhound station looks like!"
  12. Congrats to Miranda and Mistral! Thanks for reviewing and spreading the fan love around!
  13. Yep, like Steff said, this is probably going to be a monthly contest. It's going to take a bit more planning than some of the other ones, but that means that we can give out a bigger prize. I hear everyone on the computer issues. I can't wait to get a new setup this summer - my current compy is a laptop that's going to be repurposed as a video machine and I'm going to build a new machine that'll make programs cry and maybe get a new desk. Oooo... I have a new custom title!
  14. Hey everyone! The name is Rach and I was an early admin over at Ad Astra. Steff invited me back to keep the peace and to run contests! I have one in the works now - details will come later, but I'm curious what prizes people would be interested in. There are the ideas I'm thinking over: - Featured author. Like the Featured Story, but for an author, not a fic. - Custom cover. A cover for the story you pick. - Custom Avatar set. A matching set of an avatar, a sig and a custom title for the forums! Or... maybe you have something else, something better in mind. We'd love to hear what pri
  15. And the sad part is that I'm not so much worried about him, but his wife!
  16. Calm down and back away from the keyboard. ;-) I still use LJ too, and still like it, and a lot of people do. Yeah, the TOS sucks, but I really and seriously doubt they're gonna take my fanfic and publish it. CBS would eat them. Not to mention that if you're writing original fiction with the intent to publish, there are already legal reasons enough not to post it anywhere on the internet. If LJ wants to attempt to make a profit off of my ramblings about various male characters' posteriors, I would be much amused. You know, not that I'd ever post such filth.
  17. I dunno. Like others, I already have an LJ where I sometimes ramble about ficcing. I've seen this idea work to an extent over at some other community-based sites. Anime On DVD (or whatever its called now) comes to mind - users there will use the blogs to make posts that they want to discuss, but are slightly off topic or are too rambling and personal for forum posts. That's probably what I'd use it for, although I wouldn't be using it on a regular basis because I have my LJ.
